The Challenge

To combine world-class, patient-centered pediatric medical care with the hospitality experience of a 5-star hotel, featuring premium amenities that soothe and nurture.

The Design Solution

Danat Al Emarat Women’s and Children’s Hospital is at the forefront of modern medicine with the latest technology to support advanced surgical and diagnostic procedures. HKS designers cast the exterior to reflect the dramatic contrasts of the local climate, geography and culture. Patient rooms are also designed with the look of luxurious hotel rooms and royal suites feature gracious foyers as well as family living and dining areas for men and women, elegantly separated to respond to cultural expectations.

The Design Impact

Since 2015, more than 5,000 babies have been delivered and cared for alongside their mothers in suites with expansive views, family seating and separate accommodations for fathers.
