Dave McGlashan, vice president/eastern region S&T practice leader and Ken DeBoer, AIA, vice president/senior lab planner, HKS Science & Technology practice, are speaking at Tradeline Space Strategies 2015 in San Diego. Their pre-conference course “Fundamentals of Space Planning and Space Management,” will be November 15, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The complexity of the business of science coupled with the competition for resources of all types make it essential for science programs to have a clear vision to guide its diverse groups of stakeholders. Part of that vision includes designing research facilities that not only are efficient, but attractive to new researchers and scientists. It also may include ways to secure alternative sources for funding to assist researchers in maintaining their global competitiveness in science and technology.
Dave McGlashan joins HKS as vice president working with the HKS Science & Technology Group. McGlashan will apply his knowledge of all aspects of laboratory, vivarium, pilot plant and manufacturing facility projects. He has completed more than 5 million square feet of projects for the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and semiconductor industries as well as public and private research institutions, the military and the United States government during his 26-year career.
