Case Study

Constellation Brands New West Coast Headquarters Open to Creativity and Collaboration

San Francisco, California, USA

The Challenge

To design a larger headquarters for Constellation Brands – one of the world’s top premium wine, beer and spirits producers and marketers — that is reflective of its culture and brand, encourages employee interaction, attracts and retains talent and represents the company’s commitment to San Francisco.

The Design Solution

A floating staircase at the heart of the office connects the project’s two floors. The concrete-and-steel transition drives employee traffic to a central location as they move between workstations and meeting areas. Perimeter floor-to-ceiling windows offers scenic bay views and bustling city scenes on both floors, framing the company’s investment in northern California.

To comply with San Francisco’s stringent green building code, all furnishings, carpeting, paint, fixtures and finishes are sustainable and consistent with Constellation’s corporate social responsibility policies.

The Design Impact

Located at Levi’s Plaza along San Francisco’s Embarcadero, Constellation’s West Coast headquarters is nearly double the size of its former space, housing 125 employees on two floors.
