Perspectives on Education: What Kind of Learning Environments Will Prepare our Children for the Jobs of the Future?

By HKS

You are invited to the latest ‘HKS:80: Perspectives’ event – a series of panel-style discussions celebrating our practice’s 80th anniversary and exploring how we can collectively address the key issues facing our future.

The latest in this engaging series focuses on education and we have assembled an expert panel from across the industry who will discuss:

What kind of learning environments will prepare our children for the jobs of the future?

As technology continues to evolve, there is an increasing understanding that many of today’s students will occupy jobs that do not yet exist today.

If that is the case, how should we be educating our children for this future workplace?

Will current curriculums and facilities stay relevant or will we need to adapt to new ways of learning?

Will we require alternative buildings and facilities and, if so, what will they look like?

The event will be chaired by journalist and broadcaster Ben Bland and confirmed panellists so far include:

  • Ty Goddard, co-founder and CEO of The Education Foundation
  • Sasha Corcoran, Principal at Big Creative Academy
  • Sarah Counter, founder and CEO of the Canary Wharf College Trust
  • Rachel Moulton, Education Leader at HKS
  • *More to be announced soon

‘Perspectives on education’ is the third in a series of events celebrating HKS’s 80th anniversary. Our first event in April, ‘Perspectives on Health’ focused on the future of financing healthcare infrastructure. More recently we explored how the rapidly growing esports industry is driving demand for a new type of real estate.
