Commitment. That’s what a corporate headquarters represents. Commitment in the future, to employees and to the community. And building a workplace where employees are given every opportunity to succeed as they enter each day. That shows true commitment.
The Lear Corporate Headquarters was built to unify the existing multi-building complex into a cohesive modern campus representative of the company. The project was built on a brownfield site that required mitigation. The overall architectural design and landscape solution for the campus was in response to Lear’s commitment to their community, and enhanced the environment for not only their employees but the community as well.
The Vision and Design
Lear is an automobile designer and manufacturer of automobile interiors. The architectural expression of the building is an extension of the quality and style of their product. With the building form represented in a modest scale, dramatic, sculptural stairs were incorporated between floors to encourage circulation and capture views of the exterior.
The lobby was planned to serve not only as a beautiful entrance to the building, but also as a showroom for automobile interior designs.
With such attention placed on the campus landscape solution, the building was designed to have strong relationships between the interior and exterior, yielding quality spaces for the employees.
