HKS understood Fidelity’s dedication to their clients. Dedicated to Fidelity’s values, the HKS team knew that the company’s data center must not only be secure, but able to remain operational in the event of a threat to the system. They sought to integrate secure components throughout the facility and planned to implement backup systems for contingency processes.
The HKS team designed a 90,000-square-foot mission critical data center for the 2 million-square- foot corporate campus. Dual and diverse electrical feeds from the local provider create power supply redundancy.
A generator for the entire campus, with long-term load capability, provides additional support. The primary telecommunication room mini data center and security rooms are backed up by UPS. A backup air-cooled chiller supports the N+1 chillers and air handlers. The pervasive system redundancy affords Fidelity the ability to always be up and running – keeping their customers’ investments safe.
The site as a whole also features heightened security, including electronic, video and personnel surveillance; multiple background checks to acquire credentials; and credential checkpoints at the campus’ entrance, elevator lobbies and entrance to the business unit space.
