Located on the eastern edge of the University of Texas at Arlington campus, College Park Center is a LEED Gold certified, multi-purpose facility that seats 6,600 for basketball games and 7,000 for graduations. The facility is a split-bowl concept, with the upper bowl in a horseshoe shape. This design allows the largest number of fans to be as close as possible to the action, while at the same time allowing the university to curtain off the upper bowl and  create a more intimate environment for smaller events. The facility also houses UTA locker rooms for men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball, as well as state-of-the-art training and weight facilities. Two, full-sized practice courts are also integrated into the facility to allow for flexible scheduling of practices for all three sports. For the convenience of the student athlete, an academic center with large classroom spaces, computer lab and individual study rooms are located within the building.

HKS EXPlore worked with the university to develop a strategic sponsor and donor activation presentation. The presentation allowed UTA to phase in its corporate sponsors and donors after all design work was complete. By defining standard systems and design criteria, UTA can engage partners throughout the life of the arena without losing the overall building look and feel.
