“As architects, we strive for inventive and breathtaking design. I began my career on the commercial design side, which evolved into my current focus in the hospitality and leisure market. Our designs evoke emotion, passion and excitement, immersing guests in unique and natural environments while incorporating comfort and style. We believe that we are in a high-touch, high-services business and, as a collection of uniquely talented individuals, HKS provides our clients with a memorable and individualized design experience.”
Nunzio’s approach to architecture is based on 32 years of experience and a deep understanding of the requirements related to developing truly unique and memorable environments in accordance with clients’ goals, budgets and schedules. His approach to each project challenges designers, consultants and owners to establish early concepts, which determine a project’s individuality, style and attitude. Nunzio and his hospitality team have completed projects totaling more than 23,000 hotel rooms located throughout the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and the Middle East.
Nunzio grew up in El Paso, Texas. He and his five siblings, born to Italian parents, are first-generation Americans. “My mother was extremely creative, and my father had a colorful and varied career as a coal miner, a switchman for the Santa Fe Railroad, and a small residential contractor. They both had a profound influence on me; my father’s strong work ethic and my mother’s ability to dream outside the box are gifts I carry with me to this day,” he says.
