“Every project provides a unique opportunity to realize the poetic potential of a specific program and site. I enjoy discovering the spirit of the place and bringing it forward, making places that people inhabit in a participatory way.”
About Michael
As a child growing up around military bases and attending air shows, Mike didn’t suspect he would be traveling the world someday on his own. The sense of adventure instilled at an early age, combined with Mike’s love of drawing and the creative process, led him to a career as an architect. On any given day, Mike could be hiking to a project site in China, meeting with clients in New York or attending a design charrette in Los Angeles. His desire to collaborate and approach the creative process socially inspires him, and he believes that all great design products are discovered together with the entire team. Always a sportsman, Mike grew up playing several sports. As is customary of Southern high schoolers, he played football (mostly to get a date) and even survived. The love of all kinds of sports (including hiking, fishing, golf and pingpong) complements his passion for designing sports facilities.
