“As director of construction services, I nurture the process of delivering a project that meets and exceeds the client’s vision by maintaining continuity from design through construction, by overseeing the process and information flow and by fostering a spirit of positive collaboration between all members of the project team.”
Kirk is responsible for overseeing 80 construction administrators worldwide who manage projects totaling $8 billion in construction costs. Managing that many people and projects takes a person with a strong work ethic, a desire to solve problems and the capacity to build relationships. “Growing up, I watched how my dad conducted himself and how he ran his business. I try to emulate those good practices in both my professional life and my personal life.” Having also worked for a general contractor, Kirk understands construction issues from the other side of the table and the value of team work. “The best part of my job is being able to nurture and improve relationships among all project team members, including the architect, the contractor and the owner.” During his 35-year career, he has served on numerous committees for AIA Dallas, Texas Society of Architects and Associated General Contractors. He also facilitates educational programs for construction administrators and serves as a mentor to interns, encouraging them to become licensed and advising them on a career path.
