Dutch Wickes’ purpose is to provide HKS clients with design solutions that are economical and maintainable, to keep their investments safe, secure and operating 24/7, 365 days per year.

As associate principal, Wickes leads HKS’ Mission Critical practice across all market sectors including healthcare, commercial, sports, hospitality and higher education. He brings over 35 years of experience in the industry, practicing architecture and engaging in executive leadership with electrical contracting firms.

His project portfolio includes the Microsoft MSN Data Center, a 500,000-square-foot data center in San Antonio, Texas. The project was one of the first of its kind housing Microsoft Cloud technology. He was part of the design-build team working on the Certified Tier IV Cumulus Data Center in Starkville, Mississippi. He also served as electrical contractor on the Digital Realty PBB 850 and 950 power-based buildings in Richardson, Texas.

“My experience with electrical contracting firms gives me a unique perspective on how architecture supports the MEP/FP systems and connectivity that make up 80 percent of the building investment,” Wickes said.

He is familiar with all forms of project delivery, including design-build and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). Wickes graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental design and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Ball State University. He is a registered architect in Texas, California and New Jersey.
