HKS, Inc. announced that Philip Hyndman has joined its San Francisco office as vice president. Hyndman, who has assumed the role of project manager for the HKS hospitality group, brings more than 26 years of professional experience as a designer and manager, serving most recently as senior project manager with SB Architects.  

Hyndman has a broad range of experience in several architectural market sectors, including mixed-use, multi-family residential and hospitality. Beginning his career in the Bay Area in 1987, Hyndman developed in various positions at local firms Philip Banta Architecture, MBT Architects (Perkins + Will), The Office of Charles F. Bloszies, Kava Massih Architects and SB Architects.

Hyndman has worked on local and international hospitality projects, leading teams through all phases of the architectural process from initial design to preparation of construction documents and construction support. His representative projects include the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn in Sonoma, California; Luneng WenAn Resort Hotel, Winery and Villas in Beijing, China; Visun Hotel Villas and Duplexes in Haikou, China; and Grand Gorge International Community and Golf Resort in Xingyi, China.  

His residential and mixed-use project experience includes the Garfield Building Residences in San Francisco, California; The Bay Residences in San Francisco, California; Vanke Shuijng high-rise, mixed-use residential development in Shenzhen, China; and Luneng Beauty City residential development in Sanya, China. 

Hyndman received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo is currently living in Sausalito. He enjoys cycling on his commute to work and sailboat racing on the weekends.
