Each year, Building Design+Construction (BD+C) selects 40 individuals who have distinguished themselves by their career achievements, service to their professions and communities, and active participation in charitable work, representing the next generation of leadership in the AEC industry.

Heath May, AIA, LEED AP, vice president and director of HKS Laboratory for Intensive Exploration (HKS_LINE), was named one of BD+C’s “40 Under 40” for 2013.

May, 36, has more than nine years of experience in a wide range of architectural disciplines, including conceptual design, master planning, schematic design, sustainable design and the interface of design development with construction documents. He has been responsible for the design of hospitality commercial, corporate, sports, mixed-use and retail facilities and sustainable projects. May currently leads HKS_LINE, which is a team effort focusing on design, research and development, and the advancement of architecture through application of technology and methods, including parametric design and digital fabrication.
