Ralph Hawkins, chairman and CEO of HKS, notes that the global economy is still unstable and is impacting the design and construction industries. “There continues to be unsustainable downward pressure on fees. In turn, our profession continues to be innovative in the delivery of our services. Many economists believe this may be a 10- to 15-year recovery for our nation and world.”

BD+C’s annual Giants 300 listings rank the U.S. and Canadian firms that designed or constructed the largest volume of commercial, institutional, industrial and multifamily residential buildings. All firms were ranked by reported revenue for 2012.

Since its founding in 1939, HKS has completed construction projects totaling more than $75 billion in more than 1,263 cities located in 80 countries. The firm operates from 28 offices worldwide.
