NeoCon 2015 will host over 50,000 professionals at its annual commercial interiors design exposition and conference on June 15-17 at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart. HKS’ Ana Pinto-Alexander, IIDA, EDAC, principal and director of healthcare interiors; Carina Clark, EDAC, LEED AP BD+C, interior designer; and Nancy Hulsey, LEED AP BD+C, sustainable materials specialist will be there to present ways to design for an immersive sensory experience as well as share information about materials transparency.

Pinto-Alexander and Clark’s session, “Scents of Efficiency: Designing for the Multi-Sensory Experience,” will be a review of all of our senses, how they work and how they work together. They will also review a pilot study showing the effects of smell on caregiver performance in a simulated emergency room setting. Plus much more. Their session will take place on Tuesday, June 16 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Hulsey will share information about HKS’ new mindful MATERIALS resource library labeling initiative, a program HKS is making available industrywide. The mindful MATERIALS program helps design professionals quickly and easily locate information about products’ ingredients and environmental impact. Nancy will speak about the HKS mindful MATERIALS initiative at the NeoCon Materials Transparency Event on Tuesday, June 16 at 5:00 p.m. at the Shaw Contract showroom.

NeoCon is the commercial interiors industry's most important annual event — bringing together the right people, the best products and the most innovative ideas.
