Washington, DC

Straddling the edge between large-scale burgeoning development and small-scale residential, the ULINE Arena marks a pivotal transition point for the Washington DC NoMa community. After years of neglect the ULINE represents hope and a need to reconnect the NoMa neighborhoods divided by rail lines and zoning. This proposal for the ULINE attempts to address community needs on both sides, where one lacks a public meeting space, such as retail and parks, the other lacks a Vibrant night-life with civic outreach. Our project, the ULINE Spine, creates an interwoven amalgamation of programmatic typologies ranging through retail, music museum, kids music center, and performance hall.
