Cafeteria Concept III

The Cafeteria Concept III project was part of a design concept package for a client looking for a gathering space that was bright, open and would increase propinquity.  Taking cues from historic local vernacular the idea of the breezeway was employed as a strategy to both give uniqueness in the spatial experience and help to create temperate outdoor areas that would be enjoyable places to dine during the summer and shoulder seasons.  Large overhangs and trellises were optimized to shade the dining zones during summer months, but still allow for solar exposure during the winter months.
