Last Saturday’s “Feel and Fill” event at the St. Philip’s Arts in the Community Experience (SPACE) was not your typical gallery opening. There was the usual wine and cheese spread. Art spectators were present and community members alike. The art, both in live entertainment and on display, was great. Guests mingled with the likes of Erykah Badu, Shannon Wynne, Dr. Terry Flowers and Dr. Malik Zulu Shabazz of the “new” Black Panthers. But the SPACE isn’t your run-of-the-mill art studio or community art/outreach center.
Ok, so there are some who love to get their hands dirty and create something physical, and there are those who are enamored with the virtual world living in the silicon of our computers. These two worlds join together in this bit of technology that offers another way to save the foam cutter from extinction, and gets those cad monkeys using their hands:
HKS Hill Glazier Studio’s “Cliffhanger Hotel” entry qualified in the top four in the international Radical Innovation in Hospitality award competition and was recognized with an honorable mention at the Hospitality Design Boutique Exposition and Conference in Miami Beach, Fla.
